Why Was Leeson & Leeson Founded?

The firm opened in 1969, when the late Joseph F. Leeson, Sr. began practicing at 70 East Broad Street in the heart of Bethlehem. That address is still our headquarters.

He served in the Navy during World War II, then worked in insurance while attending law school at night. He built the practice around an idea we still follow: know how the other side values a file before you sit down.

1969 to 1991: The Founding Generation

Joseph Leeson, Sr. became one of Northampton County’s most recognized trial attorneys. He served as president of the Northampton County Bar Association, as Bethlehem city solicitor, and as chairperson of the Governor’s Judicial Merit Selection Committee. He died in April 1991, and his sons took over.

1991 to 2015: The Firm Grows, and a Leeson Takes the Federal Bench

Two decades in, Joseph Leeson, Sr. was joined by his sons and the firm became Leeson, Leeson & Leeson. In 2015, Joseph Leeson, Jr. left after the President nominated him as a United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, seated in Allentown.

1991 to 2020: Public Service in Bethlehem

William Leeson, Sr., a partner and former Bethlehem city solicitor, left in 2020 for retirement and continued municipal work.

2020 to Present: A Focused Injury Practice

Joseph F. Leeson, III now continues the family practice as Leeson & Leeson Accident and Injury Attorneys, in tribute to his grandfather. The firm once known for insurance defense work is now built around injured people, and we have served 1,000+ clients.

What Sets Leeson & Leeson Apart?

Roots that reach back to 1969, a family record of judicial service, and direct access to your attorney.

  • Insurance-side knowledge. Our origins in insurance work shape how we value claims and answer low offers.
  • You talk to your attorney. No handoff to a case manager for the life of the file.
  • No fees unless we win. Injury clients pay nothing up front, and we answer 24/7.

If that is what you want behind you, call us.

What Types of Cases Does the Firm Handle?

We review other serious injury matters case by case.

What Can Clients Expect When Working With the Firm?

Expect a free case review, a plain explanation of your coverage, and updates you never have to chase.

Early on we look at two Pennsylvania rules that shape most claims: the two-year limitation period under 42 Pa.C.S. § 5524, and whether your auto policy carries limited tort or full tort. State law also bars recovery when an injured person is more than 51 percent at fault.

We gather records, work with treating providers, and build the file as though it will be tried. You can see what our clients say.
